Guests joined us to welcome in the Days of Wonder, beginning with Rosh Hashanah, by eating apples & honey and tasting a variety of regional ciders!
Rosh Hashanah is known as the Jewish New Year. It marks the traditional anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve and is the beginning of the Jewish High Holy Days. During the event, we had a discussion about the holiday (with profound contributions from our guest Rabbi Abraham Skorka), a traditional shofar blowing, and an artisanal cider tasting! Our Jewish fellow Austen made the profound observation that while some Jewish holidays celebrate the deliverance of the Jewish people, Rosh Hashanah celebrates the birthday of all humanity and is therefore a holiday for all of us regardless of our faith background!
