Ala’ Khan, is a filmmaker focused on telling the stories of misrepresented and underrepresented communities, particularly people of color. She is also interested in increasing representation on and behind the screen. Ala’ is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley where she studied Latin American history. She also studied graduate-level communications and digital media at the University of Washington. Faith and spirituality are what ground Ala’ and motivate her work and her engagement with the world. Ala’ feels immensely blessed to be from Southern California, loves soaking up the sun and going to the beach any chance she gets. Ala’ is an avid traveler and strives to life beyond borders in all aspects of her life.
