Members of the Abrahamic House community attended the world premiere of Islam’s Greatest Stories of Love with ’24-’25 Muslim Fellow Esma at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium.
Together, they explored love as a force in Islam through the lens of this moving new film by Unity Productions Foundation (UPF). In this film, when a young chaplain loses her father—“the love of her life”—she sets out on a journey to uncover what Islam teaches about love as a faith, a culture, and a civilization. The film weaves together stories of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Khadija, classic tales like Layla and Majnun and the Taj Mahal, Malcolm X and his sister Ella, the poetry of Rumi, and more.
The heartwarming movie was followed by dinner nearby and fun discussions among community members about the stories featured in the film that they felt stood out the most.
